Default Question about install on Skunk2 Lowering Springs

I am getting my new springs installed on my S2000, this thursday 10/07/2010. Any advice on what i should do to make sure i get a even drop on both sides. I have noticed that some members have the same setup and their ride looks slammed. If you don't mind releasing any info that would be a lot of help regarding this matter. Some of have explained to preload the suspension which i don't quite understand some others have said to put 9 coils in the rear and 8 coils in the front? I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon. It will be greatly appreciated it.

Thank You
S2ki members.

Typically these lowering springs give more of a drop in the rear than in the front so it looks 'uneven'. By using the same coils all the way around you get more of an even drop. Skunk2 lowering springs have one the of biggest drops among other springs. Preloading the springs is also important to help with proper installation.

I just did mine today so I can tell you. If you want about an even drop, you want to out the 9 coils in the back and the 8 coils in the front. Also preloading the suspension by jacking up the car up at a point that you like, once the suspension is all in and bolted down ( not fully tightened yet) get another jack and jack that suspension that you working on till it's fully compressed and then fully tighten down everything. This springs give a sick drop and I'm slammed all around. I'd get pics but no good camera, just my phone

Thanks for the info. Post up the pictures of the installation i'm anxious to see how it looks. I'm going to be using a full body lift at my friends shop so that would be considered as preloading the suspension correct?

haha alright I'll go snag some pics later and post them up here tonight. Also ^ thats not preloading the suspension cause your lifting the car by the body. I dont know how you would do it it on the lift because you need a jack under each shock to jack up so it can get compressed, and then tighten everything down.

Dont mind my dirty car . But the car its self isnt crazy low as you can see in picture 1. As far as ride goes, its great and almost like stock, just a tad stiffer. This is just 2 days after they have been installed so they still need to settle so it will get a little bit lower but not much and I can barely slide a finger onto my rear tire and no fingers in the front. I hope this helps guys

Not yet haven't had the chance to get them installed yet. The tech that was going to do it for me backed out.

If you can get your hands on a spring compressor or rent one, its a very easy job with the average set of hand tools
