I would like to see a pic of this combo also. I'm considering the same setup. Thanks

Interesting...Robinson is probably one of the more knowledgeable people in this forum (probably founded on real world experience, too). Yet, you don't want to listen.

What size & model tires are you running? I'm going to assume you are using at least 245/40/17s in the front and 255/40/17s in the rear; anything less would be a waste of your 949 wheels. With '05 springs & Konis on the lower perch, you will probably be contacting your bump stops and your front fender liners. A front camber adjuster (SPC, J's, Hardrace, etc.) will help keep you out of the liner, but you'll probably still be sitting on the bump stops in a fully-loaded corner scenario. With stock length PSS Bilsteins (345 lb/in front, 285 lb/in rear), a 3/4" drop and 255/40/17s all the way around, I was contacting the bump stops and eating into my front liners. The rear will be fine with a bit of camber (-2+ degrees).

I agree, Robinson is very knowledgeable, I've read many of his posts, I respect his opinion, and I would certainly listen if he offered a response to my question rather than criticism.

Currently on the car are 225 and 255 on the 9" and 10". I'll be stepping up to either 245 or 255 in front and 265 or 275 in the rear. I was thinking of going to the '07/'08 springs since they are~ 40lbs more spring rate than the '05 with nearly the same front to rear spring rate ratio. If that's still too weak then I can step to an Eibach custom rate.

I'm trying to avoid rock hard spring rates since this car is more commuter than racer. I installed the Eibach anti-roll bars to assist in leveling the attitude in corners so I can stick to a milder spring rate.

I also want to avoid adjustable height stuff because I don't have easy access to a performance alingment shop for corner balancing

So, I'm guessing you are at a 1.5" drop since you used lowering springs and utulized the lower perch on the Koni's, right?

I too am getting ready to do the Koni yellow shocks and can't decide if I want to use the factory '04 springs on lower perch or use the Tein S's on the upper perch...decisions decisions decisions, to go a .5" drop or go the full 1".

I would also like to see someone on Koni's using the lower perch with OEM springs...someone has to have pictures...bueller

Bump. I'm in the exact same situation and would love to see stock springs on bottom perch koni yellows as well.

Bump from the deadly!

Bringing this back to life because I couldn't find any pics of this setup anywhere. So I just said screw it and gave it a shot.

I finally installed my koni's on the car this week. I'm on stock springs on the lower spring perch notch. Here are some pics for you guys that may be interested in doing the same thing.

Thanks for posting! This is probably the direction I'll be taking in the near future. Are these the regular off-the-shelf Konis? How does it ride and perform compared to the stock shocks? What are your stiffness settings?
