Need opinion on DD coilovers
I recently purchased a s2k and it has D2 RS coilovers installed. From whats printed on the springs, it read 14 for the front and 12 for the rear. I tried adjusting the dampenings, but its still too stiff for me to DD. Overall I am just not happy with the coilovers. Can you guys please make some suggestions on coilovers and your overall experience? I am looking for something that is a bit stiffer than stock and comfortable enough to daily drive in downtown Los Angeles roads (I live in Koreatown, where the roads conditions are exactly smooth). I hate having to always drive cautiously trying to avoid bumps in the road because of the harsh ride. I was looking at Blistein PSS9, Buddy Club N+, Stance GR+, and BC Racing BR. From that list, I was kind of leaning towards the BC Racing or Stance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ohlins DFV Road and Track. I replaced the budget Tein SS coilovers on my FD with these, and DAMN the difference in street driveability is STAGGERING. I went from practically stopping and driving around every bump/pothole in the road to smooovely driving right over them, despite much stiffer spring rates (9/7 with the Teins, 11/11 with the Ohlins).
There are probably other options out there, but for the good stuff be prepared to shell out $$$ either way...

You're much better off selling the car and buying one with OEM suspension if you aren't able to spend ~$2000 or more on coilovers.
Or buying take-off oem shocks/springs (OEM dampers is pretty stellar with OEM spring rates) and selling the coilovers you have now.
Long/short: your ride woes are due to substandard damping. You're not going to solve it with different budget coilovers.
That said, I would bet that Bilstein PSS9s should be a big improvement!

I ended up with KW V3, but in your case I would go with PSS9 based on every review that I have read. I believe the ride quality and overall construction will be noticeably better than any of the bargain basement "32 way" coilovers. If you don't plan on playing with damping adjustments or tracking, even the base PSS might be perfect for you. They are priced right in line with most of the others you listed.

Glad I went with PSS9's. They are stiffer than stock but comfortable enough to drive around in downtown LA roads
