How does the spring rate (of 20lb/in I think) come into play?

As has been mentioned, the helper springs just keep a bit of load on the main spring when the damper is extended to keep it from moving around. This avoids issues with the main spring seating incorrectly on the perches. As load is applied, e.g., when the car is sitting on the ground, the suspension compresses. Due to the soft nature of the helper spring, it compresses more for the given load. At some point, the helper spring binds up, at which point the main coil becomes the dominate spring of the system. The bound up helper spring merely acts like a spacer, at this point. Helper springs do not change the primary characteristics of a suspension system.

Can't find them on the forum but I am certain they were at one time posted.

I know the owner, you can maybe get a peek through her signature.

Just got KW v3's on my S. I am pretty curious to see if i am lower than the recommended height settings that Kw gives. Can anyone else post pictures of their S with v3's at the lowest recommended height settings? I will be posting side pics on here soon....

i don't get it - you do spirited mountain drives and at the same time you want to be lower than KW's settings (wich already are over ~2" lower than stock)????

my expirience that on the street even 1" lowering os too low to be scrape safe...

I dont scrape at all here in northern california roads. Just have to be going sideways going up driveways and speed bumps. I am just wondering if i am lower than the the lowest recommended settings.
