Is just springs ok?
Got my Tanabe nf240 springs the other day and took them to honda to install. Honda wanted 700 bones to install because they said it would take them 5.5 hrs and i would have to get an allignment. ?? is do I really need an allignment after I get them installed and another s2K up @ honda told me not to do springs it just jacks up the cars suspension and to do coil overs. Is it that worth it to do coil overs over springs as well?

first off, 700 is a rip off!!!! wow!!!!! last time i had springs installed,...it was 90 bucks. Yes the suspension will be worse than stock handling wise,....it will look cooler. but thats it. I'm sure you can find a local who will help with an install. its pretty straight forward so DO NOT pay that for an install. You can get decent coilovers for a few hundred more. The reason springs suck is if used with the stock shocks,....the shock will lose travel because you have to compress the shock to make it fit the shorter spring.

no, i think what snoop was saying for 700 , you can probably get a set of coil overs for a little more.
go to a reputable shop and get it installed, it should not be anywhere near the 700 range or ask your fellow s2ki members in your local areas to help out
alignment wise, you should wait until your springs settles at its final height which usually takes couple weeks then get an alignment.
think about it, if you get an alignment right after you install springs, it'll be accurate at that height, but once it settles in for its final height in that couple weeks, it'll be off again, why waste your money and double the work?

Thanks for the info, I found a custom shop that will do it for 180. Not horrible I guess. Didnt know to wait on the allignment though. Makes sense just never thought about it.

springs is fine if your not tracking or racing your car around city streets which you shouldnt anyways. my 1st time took me a few hours and alignment is recommend not a must if you dont care bout wearing your tires down faster than normal

I noticed a nice decrease in body roll and more balanced (slight over-steer biased) handling characteristics with my Tein S techs. They were good for about a second quicker lap time at BW 13. You need to take into account a lot when choosing springs, just don't assume they all are just for looks.

GET AN ALIGNMENT! I burned through a set of Falken Azenis RT615s and Dunlop Direzza Star specs in... 3,000 miles. Yes 2 sets of rear tires in 3,000 miles. Get an alignment and enjoy the springs. I put mine on myself, and if you have access to a decent set of tools it is not hard. I had access to air tools at the time, so it took no time. I think it took me just as long to put my new Hawk HPS pads on the front.
