just got 17x9.5 wheels all around. looking for best way to set up

Also when you start driving the car hard you will probably rub the inside of your fender well as Im not sure a +55 is low enough for a 17x9.5 to keep it from contacting. It should have the same clearance on the inside as a 17x9 +62 and that rubs under hard cornering. Although the tire will be ever so slightly stretched which could help it clear more.

It's actually a 17x9 +55 offset with 255/40 tires. So I am thinking it is just the tires.. More like hoping

If your fenders are rolled you shouldn't have rubbing anywhere then. It has to be your tires being loud, if it weren't then you would know (you would have lots of melted rubber built up where it was rubbing)
