ok
I'm not joking around here. Look up "flat ride" and read about how 10-20% stiffer rear ride frequency makes for a less "sea saw" ride over bumps. I tried this with two different spring selections and its true. 450 FR and 700 RR is way more comfortable than 800 FR and 700 RR. As for the damping, compression (bump) settings are primarily where the driver will feel harshness. That's why almost all the tuner coilovers have very low bump valving and most are not even adjustable in bump. When the force is digressive, which means that the forces fall off with increasing piston speed, then the ride is more comfortable over bumps.

The lession here is, I read about flat ride on the internets, I found the original paper online and read it, then I tested the theory out and proved that it was still valid.

There should be more testing and less sharing subjective opinion about damper performance in this suubforum.

Listen its not rocket science. A softer spring rate will offer more compliancy over bumps which is what the OP is talking about here, and so will less compression damping yes. Finding a balance between this comfort and performance is what it comes down to. You can analyze it all you want and try and achieve the right balance for you, but saying adding stiffer springs to add softer more compliant bump response for a smoother ride is counter intuitive and poor advice.

Wrong, wrong wrong!

This is what I'm talking about. What is your experience? I told you mine. I did the experimant. Ride comfort has nothing to do with sprig rate. It has everything to do with ride frequency split. A higher rear ride frequency will offer a more comfortable ride.

You can argue all you want, but my statement, backed by research and proven through actual application trumps your opinion.

Ok guy, what ever makes you go to sleep at night. Not worth debating something so ridiculous with you.
