helpful Brake / Clutch Bleeding ideas
Gravity bleed of both the brakes and clutch work very well, other than dealing with the drain hose that doesn't want to stay in the drain bottle:
Two ideas that will lessen this frustration:
1 - put about a 1/2 cup of water in the drain bottle to give it a little weight, helps keep it from falling over.
2 - most use a clear hose, generally a "fuel line" for a mower or such, and it usually curled up when you get it and it DOESN'T want to uncurl. pull the bare ground wire out of some house wiring that may be laying around, (this is the solid single strand wire), and insert it into the clear drain hose. This allows you to effectively bend the drain hose to the shape you need it to be in. Like a sharp right angle at the nipple then a straight run into the drain bottle. There is still plenty of space in the clear hose to allow for the fluid to drain. In fact making this a straight run the fluid actually runs out considerably faster.
I hope it helps you all as it did me - considerably less frustration!
cheers,
