front coilover preload

front coilover preload
hey all.
i have recently been having an issue with my front wheel/tire rubbing the front fenders and pulling out the fender lip.
the wheels are 17x7.5 +45 with a 215/45/17. this ONLY happened when turning into my driveway with the wheel cut all the way right.. the front of my car has atleast a 1 finger gap so its not slammed.
the front is pretty bouncy and im pretty sure it's because the preload because once i re did the rear coilover preload it became very stiff.
so my question is.
WOULD INCORRECT FRONT COILOVER PRELOAD CAUSE MORE SUSPENSION TRAVEL, IN TURN CAUSE THE TIRE TO GRAB THE FENDER WHEN COMPRESSED WITH THE WHEEL TURNED?
sorry for the novel, i'm getting new fenders and dont want to mess em up.
-Nick.

The reason its grabbing the inner fender is cause u dont have enough camber. Set the spring preload at zero and adjust the stiffness on the coilover.
i was going to have the inner lip cut out by s-factor.

The place that did my alignment said the front camber on our cars push the bottom of the wheel out instead of bringing the top in. If that's the case, then camber won't help.
You can adjust the dampening on your coilover to be more stiff. You'll probably have more luck there than pre-loading your spring more. The permanent fix is to roll your fenders or cut out the part where the liner mounts up (or do both).

i had a similar issue... check out your springs because if they are too compressed your shocks will basically not be working...therefor your stiffness on your coilovers that you adjust from the top is pointless... worked for me..good luck

OP, only cut the fender lining where it is rubbing. The linig holds regidity for the front bumper corners.
