Default Deciding on a front sway bar... or not?

Here's my current setup:

-255/45/17 RS3 F/R
-MY00 Front bar w/energy bushings
-MY03 rear bar (slightly softer than stock)
-About to instal a set of prototype Swift spec R springs, ~420lbs/in F/R (I know the production spec R rates are slightly different)

Right now I have stock AP2 springs front and rear, the new springs will shift the car's balance to oversteer slightly, but I can't decide if I need the beefy adjustable 32mm Eibach sway bar, or the tanabe 30.4mm non adjustable bar... or just keep the MY00 bar and see how the balance is as I like the car to be neutral.

I'd like to hear what sway bars people with square tire setups and spring rates are running, thanks!

Being square you might need an aftermarket front bar to re balance again, however you can also soften the rear with an ap2 sway or go even further with a Miata bar, so you have 2 inexpensive bolt on steps you can go yet to try, and personally find that to be the better solution generally because a softer bar actually increases traction to re balance, rather then lessen traction on the other end to balance. You are already equipped with a pretty stiff factory front bar. Im not running a square set up, but did find keeping my front 01 bar and swapping to a ap2 rear was the perfect balance for 255/295 and 14k springs all around. I was considering a stiffer bar up front initially, but glad I decided to soften the rear instead, its just better. You may feel differently though running non stag and your intended use and driving style.

Personally I don't like non stag, its compromised and this is one reason why. The s2k chassis favors a stagger to get the most performance out of it as far as street and road course work. Slow speed auto X is a little different, many of the rules that apply at 100+ mph don't when your building an Auto X car such as easier rotation under slower speed inputs. But the stock s2k body accommodates 40mm more rear fender well then the front, so if your going to maximize that, then you will end up with a staggered set up. A balanced 255/295 set up is going to be faster then a balanced 255/255 set up and ultimately that's what it comes down to for me. It also takes less manipulation from stock to balance the car.

If you're gonna autocross the car, no OEM bar will be enough to work with square tires. My stock '02 AP1 with 225 tires all around and Gendron 1.25" (32mm) front bar on pretty stiff setting can oversteer easily just by using the steering wheel on a fast course.

I still have this available if you want https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/112...tyle-sway-bar/

Thanks for the info! I'm pretty set on a square tire setup for now as I much preferred it to the stock stagger, however I never had the chance to try a staggered 17" setup which I may try in the future.

I'll look into an AP2 rear bar, I too like the concept of adding grip in the rear vs taking it away from the front. I may still consider a stiffer front bar after the springs depending on if I still feel the front has too much roll, but the ap2 rear would be much more affordable and that's always nice.

The Eibach is not much stiffer than your current my00 bar, though it will save weight. The Whiteline front bar would be a more noticeable difference (though heavy), while still not costing much.

The Whiteline would be a great choice.
