Default D2 Racing RS coilovers

Greetings all ,
I have 2006 EDM S2000 and consider buying those coilovers .
The only concern is the springs rates , 13K for the front and 8K for the rear .
Are the above ratio will cause the car to understeer or any other unbalanced handling phenomenon?
The car is completely stock , and with sticky street tyres .

I wouldn't get those if it was me. I like even SRs. The backend being that soft will induce a lot of understeer. Most good coilovers for the S will have an even SR or even a slight rear bias.

Definitely wouldn't go with those spring rates. Equal, or near-equal rates front to back seem to provide the most neutral handling for this car. My 12k/10k f/r rates produce just a tad of understeer, which make for a pretty safe handling car at the limits. I would never go with any more front bias than this. Choose another set of coilovers with equal rates front to rear.

Sorry for rising this topic from the death. I just bought this set, someone was selling it pretty cheap.
Does anybody know if the rear springs can be replaced with stiffer springs?

When the disparity is greater than 4kg the opposite happens, the loose rear relative to the front will understeer in steady cornering, but can be coaxed into oversteer with aggressive lift off turn in, or quick changes of direction. You should pick spring rates based on your driving style, unfortunately you won't know what works for you until you try it. For some people replacing springs constantly isn't practical nor economically viable, because in some instances you have to re-valve the shocks to match the spring rate.

I agree however, given the car's near 50:50 weight distribution it's better to have close to equal spring rates.
