Breaking a rear hub can be scary. While uncommon, it’s not something you want to happen to you, especially on track/moving at high speeds. We all know this is a fairly common issues with the S2000 as the oe hub flange isn't very thick. There is a company (Karcepts) that makes an awesome replacement hub flange for our cars BUT a pair is roughly $300.
Wanna know what only costs $30 for a pair? Front hubs from a 2002 CR-V.
Below is a picture comparing the two - CR-V is obviously on the left and is substantially thicker.
This isn’t meant to be a tutorial on replacing your hubs/wheel bearings - several detailed tutorials already exist. Just use this post as a suggestion. Not saying these hubs are better than what Karcepts offers, but you’re able to literally shave off a zero on the price tag.
Part Numbers: SK930450 (x2) - this is the hub, I bought mine on RockAuto
ARP 100-7717 (x2) - no these aren’t the usual - 7712 Honda studs. the CR-V uses a larger knurl diameter so you’ll need studs from an Evo VIII if you’re planning on doing extended studs. Same thread pitch as oe.
These hubs still have provisions for rotor hold-down screws which seems to be the failure point of the S2000 hub, but considering the added flange thickness I don’t see how this will be an issue.
Note that the S2000 wheel bearing fits this hub perfectly, it is 100% the same except for the added flange thickness. Figured I’d throw this out there in hopes of saving someone a couple (270) dollars!
I'm unclear on what studs the crv hub comes with stock? The studs you used are for extended length, correct?
If what comes on the crv one not similar to our stock studs, what would work? Fit crv hub, same thread, same lug nuts same stud length as our stock studs?
Still have these off car? Someone is going to ask about weight difference.
Yep. People have been using those for a while. Not sure if they are as strong as the karcepts but they seem to be stronger than oem and have not heard of issues

The CRV stud KNURL is different. Not the threaded part.
If you're fine using the stock length studs, just use the CRV studs that come with the hubs
If you want extended studs, use the EVO ones the OP has.

Great post, OP!
Yeah, I got that knurled area was different size, so studs for our hubs won't fit crv, but wasn't clear if rest of stud was same,
diameter, thread, length. Good to know same.
