Bringing ate super blue to US
Anyone have experience with asking friends/family bring ate super blue from overseas into the US?
Long story short, I'm fairly certain super blue can still be bought in countries like Taiwan/China/EU..etc but has anyone brought it into the US post ban?
What's the worst happens..2 liters are seized? I would not ask relatives to being back a huge stockpile...

Cant you just have someone mail it? Or find it and have it shipped?
Or just buy a different brake fluid? Or regular colour ATE?

Too much of a hassle is probably the main reason. Ate Typ 200 is the exact same fluid, just amber like pretty much every other brake fluid. The effort or hassle of trying to source it is more work than just running more fluid through the lines. The perk of super blue was the convenience of monitoring color when alternating from super blue to typ 200 every change, so you knew when all of the old fluid was removed. Realistically, running about 90% of the can of Typ 200 will get most, if not all the old fluid out of the system.

They claim the current formulation is an amber color designed to provide contrast when changing fluid.

Definitely not worth the trouble. It was a nice feature when it was available, but not worth trying to smuggle it in :P

If the boiling point of ATE is sufficient for his use, then spending 4X the price on Project Mu is just dumb. And ATE is perfectly good brake fluid, not crap. So again, if it fits his needs, then why spend a fortune? Its like putting a BBK on your street car :P
