Which brake setup to replace OEM?
Hi guys,
My 00 has now 62.000kms (approximately 38000 miles) and time has come to replace both front brake discs and pads (don't want to use my used pads on new discs).
I currently have an OEM setup, and I'm wondering what to buy in order to find cheaper than the OEM parts and, if possible, a setup that could be ok during track days.
I had a look on EBC Ultimax discs and RedStuff pads, what do you think about it?
What would you recommend knowing that I'm going to go on track days approximately twice a year?
Thanks for your help!

EBC has a pretty mixed reputation here. I know the lotus guys are crazy about them, but the factory is really good for occasional track visits if you don't want to spend the money on 2 sets.

I have 3 friends who has an EBC setup and only one is not fan since brakes are noisy and he doesn't like noise lol
The problem is that in France, the OEM parts for brakes are very expensive, and I had one or to quotes from the US, shipping costs are very high and I got the risks to pay additionnal fees with customs...
I'll order EBC set (Ultimax and red stuff) in the UK so there are no customs fees, and shipping is pretty low.
So if you think that EBC setup will do the job correctly, I'll order it
Thanks!

I don't know about EBC for the S2000, but they've been dynamite on my bike. A little noisy but bearable given their mprovement over stock.
BTW, OEM pads are not suffcient for track day use.

Brembo plains with Hawk HP+.
A little noisy and dusty, but you will love them on the track.
I suggest Goodridge or Russel brake lines and Motul RBF600 fluid also.

It's about time for me to replace my rotors and pads, and I've been searching around but I keep ending up with cross drilled rotors for the BBK's.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread in a certian way.....where can I purchase some Brembo Blanks(front and rear) online? Or should I just stick with OEM blanks?

To me rotors are rotors as long as they are not slotted or drilled.
Slotted eat pads and drilled crack in between holes.
After looking for Brembo plains on Tire Rack for you (I buy mine at my local reliable speed shop), I saw these and they would probably be my next purchase for rotors.

Note: I ran cheap NAPA rotors in extensive autocross and they hold up just fine, don't pay for a brand name, find a good deal.
