EBC yellow do fade on the track under hard braking, my pads started to break off after the second hpde event on them. Not a fan of any of the ebc products pads or rotors. I have personal experience using both.

I've been running HP+ all around for now while on street tires (RS3s). but will go to ht-10s front/HP+ rears once I go back to Rs. Why HP+? Because they double duty as my autox pads and they're perfect for that too.
Hawk HP+ is a good aggressive daily/auto-x pad. That being said, they have been used on many HPDE events and do well for the 20 min sessions. Thats my personal experience with them and have not encountered fade issues. Just my 2 cents worth!
But loud as heck on the street, correct? And dusty?

Have you tried their newer "Blue Stuff"?

yes, I have. I have since changed to cobalt pads, much better composition and build quality, holds up amazing.

How did the blue stuff compare with yellow? Did it still chunk and such?

they stay quiet if you go to the track often enough (or try bedding them in again after they start getting noisy)

LOL yes on both counts - nothing like pulling up to the stoplights in a Evo X and it squeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaals and having people next to you look at you like "why is that car making that noise"? . Sorry, my 30K car sounds like a hooptie, is all I can say. The brake dust doesn't bother me personally as much, I can see how some folks may be put off by this.

I use Cobalt XR2 front and XR4 rear on the track. Great pads!
I don't doubt that all out braking on a track that's hard on brakes is going to demolish the Yellow Stuff. However I do feel they work fine for juggling both street and track. I have never used the Cobalt products before. Would you say the XR4/XR2 work fine for the street as well? I don't have the luxury to switch pads and I want a single pad that works well as a compromise. If you or others stand by the Cobalt products and they are sufficient for street use as well I'll add them to my shopping list.

In that case get the yellows EBC they will work on the street and teh occasional autocross, the XR2 are very aggressive (true track pad) XR4 are also true track pads but not as much torque when they bite down
