guys ive been looking at upgrading my brakes and after some reading I'm leaving towards carbotech AX6 all round + centric premium rotars

mainly street use with maybe 3-4 track days a year

will i need the pre-bedding option with the ax6's?

what do you guys think? or should I just buy the xp 8 all round pre bedded and they will be sweet for daily driving?
Or xp8/ax6 combination?

If you don't mind, could you share your bedding process for these? I supposedly "bedded" my HP+s but they are extremely obnoxious, even after 2 track days and about 1.5k mi. on them. Thanks.

It may be a difference in compound, but carbotechs are bedded by bringing the pads up to fade temp, and then letting them completely cool. Covering up brake ducts you have will help a lot in getting them up to temp.

i have the same problem of fading during downhills.
on Miata i constantly had Hawk HP+ completely fading towards end of the downhill.
really scary stuff.

never had this with Axxis Ultimates.
too bad they're not available anymore.
the axxis should be restocked in the usa the second week of november. im still waiting on my front set

How many miles or track days are you guys getting with the XP10/8 setups?
I know its different for everyone but would just like to get an idea since these pads are way harder than oems.
Also I'd like to hear if you also daily these pads or are they track only pads.

Thanks!

by the way I'd like to share my experience.
Installed XP10/XP8 a couple days ago. The first day, howled like crazy.
I decided to bed them in last night per Carbotech's instructions.
And now no more howling!

I was thinking about getting that break-pad setup.... May I ask what rotors you are running btw?

To the OP: ferodo ds2500 front and rear works well together with motul rbf660 fluid for DD and occasional spirited driving. Might be a bit lacking should you go to a track but that might not be too much of an issue for now for you.
