did you properly bed in the pads? you should be getting so much squeal. people often fail to bed and rebed the pads properly.
IME, non-street pads squeal. The harsher/more durable the track pad, the more inevitable/louder the squeal, generally. On the street putzing around town, it's only a matter of time (as in a few days) till the transfer layer gets worn away and the pads start squealing. Some folks say "just rebed them." Well sure that's possible, but who wants to have to rebed pads every few days? No one.. and hence track pads squeal.

I guess if you drive on the street like you do at the track perhaps you can maintain the transfer layer, but now we're talking about a different set of problems.. HP+ definitely shouldn't be "louder than a bus" though.

Ditto. Re-bedding pads is a PITA. The squeal is, of course, most obnoxious when you pull into work.

if you need something more than this on the street, you are behaving very irresponsibly.
fixed

It comes down to personal preference.

Re-fixed. don't misquote me.

It certainly is somebody's personal preference to choose their brake pad. However, if you are driving hard enough to fade a set of street pads on a public road, it's called reckless driving. It's not opinion, it's law. I suppose if you choose to drive in this manner on the street, you should have an appropriate pad and keep us slowpokes safe.

I have never faded my oem pads or axxis ultimate or the current hp+'s I am fairly easy on the breaks. I don't know why you are assuming reckless driving when the point I was trying to make is some people prefer higher coefficient of friction from their pad for their daily commute.

need vs. desire
If you need hi-temp pads on on a street car, you are being too aggressive for public roads. If you desire hi-temp pads on a street, that is certainly anybody's prerogative.
