I just did mine on saturday. What i did wasremoved the valve cover and cleaned it up. TheOEM ap2 coveris red with texture and i wanted to keep the texture for now so i just cleaned the dirt off. I then used a blue high temp base coat (2) coats of that. Then i used a high temp metallic metal blue coat (2) coats. Then finished it up with a clear gloss high temp paint (2)coats. The final result is exatally what i wanted. Will post pics after the car is finished up.

Vht high heat crinkle black is really easy and looks great. 10 bucks a can. I just did mine. Just hit it with aircraft remover for 2 min and the old paint wipes off. Prep and spray 3 or 4 coats in rotating pattern each round. Bake at 200 degrees for an hour. It can just air dry for 24 hours too.

Why get black when you can get red for under $10 too?

Yes, I did one of my VC's on my Integra without baking and it looked fine.

Although you will get a tighter wrinkle if you bake it, which looks better IMO.

I didn't paint mine and it seems like it gets scratched easily. I would bake it to harden the paint if I did it again.
