Does anyone know if I were to airbrush something on the valve cover would it hold up to the heat? I have an airbrusher ready to paint but he thinks the under the hood heat will be a problem? He currently says the best option is to rattle can the base and then free hand the art work then follow with a coat of high temp clear, but he cannot warranty due to the heat issue...

The valve cover doesn't get THAT hot. I think it doesn't even break 200 degrees, more like 160-180 or so. Most automotive paints can take that, but triple check with your painter. His paint should have a rating (negative and positive) of what the paint can withstand.

Im not sure what temp the paint is able to withstand but I think he said the clearcoat can take up to 200 degrees...

like i told you before, the paint I used on my valve cover says it can only take 200 degrees, and it has been perfect

I would ask what his paint can withstand, and if it can withstand more heat than milk chocolate, you are going to be alright
