3M Paint Protection film will work fine, and won't crack or turn yellow. I've got it. About $40 for the film, $20 to have them install.

There are mixed reviews about using the 3m film, but if that's how you want to protect your lights go for it. I wouldn't risk it myself especially that my headlights are mint and I actual like the look with the headlight protectors on. Just like any mod you love it or hate it..

Reading around the forum there is mixed posts about hair line fractures caused on the headlights from using the film. Mainly in hotter climates

Well, can't speak for everyone, but I live where it gets to 100-110 degrees in the summer, and no issues.

Perhaps they didn't get real 3M film. Or perhaps they used the cheaper Venture film?

Here is a pic of what has happened with film, you might be just lucky. But as I said 2 different types of mods that essentially do the same.
