Long story short a woman hit my car this morning by backing into it. We both would like to avoid going the insurance route and she is willing to pay out of pocket. I don't have time today to go to a body shop to get estimates do any of you here on the boards know how much this small scratch will cost? And is the painting the entire front bumper necessary in this situation? Thanks!

 

so is paint literally missing or is that just a scratch? Have you tried buffing it out? If paint really is missing, you'll need to get the entire front bumper resprayed, which will be around $400.

 

The paint is entirely gone. i can feel the metal or whatever the actual bumper is made of. A simple buff won't work. Thanks for the quick reply!

my lovely mother decided to back into, and drive UP my front bumper last year. couldn't bring myself to make her pay for it even though she offered .


does the lady actually know it's going to cost around that much? good luck
