Help Removing This Trim Piece

You cant get it from the trunk. You need to remove the plastic shelf behind the seats, the two side plastics and possibly a few more. You will see the rain gutter and will need to loosen it (I believe its a bunch of 10mm nuts) That rain gutter is riveted to the soft top. Then behind that you will find the nuts holding the trim.
I hate to say this, but its pita to do that.

I was going to remove this piece now that I am doing my repaint, but it is such a PITA that Im just going to tape it up carefully. I dont plan on taking off my top anyways.

It is a pita to take that off but if you use some fine line tape and scuff all the way up to that edge and properly clean any water or dust from that area you shouldn't have a problem with seeing any hard lines or the paint peeling back. I did it with my first paint job on my s2000 without issues. I then got a hard top and removed my entire soft top frame for my third paint job it was a pain.
