Fender debadge left shadow on paint
I debadged the fenders of my silverstone s2000, but it left like a shadow on my paint. It also feels like the the clearcoat or something was coming off when I removed the emblem. There were hard ridges along where the emblem came off. Can this be buffed out?

It is adhesive residue, not a clearcoat problem.
The product you need is 3M Adhesive Cleaner - product #08987. It will chemically react with the residue and you can rub it off after about a minute. It won't hurt the paint.

I had this same exact thing happen the other day, at this point I got tired of fooling with the goo gone and pulled out the 1500 grit, 3m compound and the 9227c and went to work...

Mine looked exactly like that. Unfortunately, the PO had that fender painted and cleared right over the badge and all the dirt in the crevices leaving me a nice suprise when I debadged

I brought it to a detailer and he confirmed that the clear coat was coming off. He suspects that the fenders were repainted. I'll probably bring it back to him so he can try compounding it.

I brought the car to a detailer and they charged me $160. But at least they compounded the whole area & reapplied the emblem with 3m double sided tape. They also did a full interior shampoo and engine detailing. The car looks incredible now. I was surprised about how many permanent scratches (or so I thought) they just buffed right out.
