Final update on my RYP yellow lip oem.thing eBay spoiler -

Just got it back from the paint shop - they were able to match the color EXACTLY. (Mine was Y65P-G - not sure what suffix letters the other three possibilities were.) The paint card they sprayed exactly matched the color on the trunk lid, and it exactly matched the color on the spoiler they repainted (duh). The funny thing is, the color still looks slightly different at some angles/in some lighting situations - they double-checked the final color with a special digital camera/color matching setup and it matches the paint on the car, so it's apparently the way the pearl lays in the paint that causes it to reflect the light in a slightly different way.

As much of a stickler for OEM as I have always been with my vehicles, in this case, I think the oem.thing spoiler is inexpensive enough to take a chance on their RYP - I have no idea of the percentage chance of their RYP matching an OEM color - overall, I paid $68 for the spoiler and $159 for the repaint, so at $227, I'm still FAR below what a Genuine Honda spoiler would have cost, and that's assuming that the OEM one came pre-painted in the correct shade of RYP.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it again the same way. Mission accomplished for us yellow owners!

I ordered one in GPW and as they cautioned, the color match is not exact. The spoiler is a little whiter than the paint on the trunk but not noticeable by the average person.

I refuse to drill holes in my trunk lid for a stylish spoiler. I did fit one off Ebay that goes on with heavy duty double sides tape. Nice Silverstone color match. Less than $100. Delivered in a week.

No regrets at all. I know that I am very picky and can see the slight difference but most people can't see it.

Even if you get it painted locally there will likely be a difference as a body shop cannot perfectly replicate the OEM paint process and color.

^^^ I did get the OEM.Thing spoiler but I used 3M automotive tape from a local parts store. It comes with tape but I found it to be a little thinner and not as wide as the tape I had. Having more tape contact to the trunk makes me feel better. Lol
