Looking at buying a S2K CR which has the AC and audio option, but obviously no convertible top. I would like to install the convertible top so I have HT with hard painted tonneau cover, convertible top, AC/audio, and all the CR handling upgrades...yeah even those butt ugly yellow CR seat inserts....an upholstery shop will cure that with new covers. Don't mind the added weight of the convertible top system as I won't be racing on the track seriously.

Has anyone tried this project? Could I buy the folding system from a standard S2K totaled car? Are all the holes and needed installation points available in the CR? Anything missing? Does the tonneau cover lift out when the HT is removed on the CR?

Will the hard tonneau cover (not soft convertible cover) install over the convertible top when folded down? How does it install/remove?

Any input appreciated. This will be my first S2K. I'm an old guy that hasn't enjoyed one yet...have Corvettes, '93RX7 R1, '94 RX7 R2, etc, but want to try a S2K.

 

I do not think that a soft top will fit under the C/R Tonneau.
That it why I got the non c/r S.

 

the CR is not meant to have a soft top. Just get a regular AP2 if ur not keeping all these CR features. Whats the point of doing all that work when the end result will just be an AP2?

 

It can be done look on the CR forum there is one guy doing it. But i do like the idea of being able to have a top down with ease. U want to change the interior as well might as well get a AP2 for cheaper and u wont have to spend alot to modify it
