Default Chipped CF hood

So I chipped the clear enamel from the edge of my CF hood and was curious if there was some way to fix it. hoodprop didnt fit in the hole and the wind blew it up, hood prop went to the side and the hood slammed down forcing the prop between the fender and closed hood. I'm wanting a flawless fix as my hood is a J's. Its noticeable but its not a huge spot, so something thats 90% as good as new would work. I'm thinking a clear resin, but I have no idea what would work or what to buy, any info is greatly appreciated. ShocK

Same happened to me..

masking tape, polyester resin / gel coat, sand paper, clear coat. go to your local auto body supply and pick up the materials. make sure you read over the tech sheets.

also build up the layers carefully, dont just slop the material down ..

to prevent this in the future make sure you either remove the plastic tip from the hod prop, modify the hood to fit the prop, or get gas struts to lift the hood..

also mix a test batch of resin before you start on your hood, you dont want to get the wrong kind, or mix it hot, as it will yellow on you.

Good luck!

LOL, same thing happened to you! We got bad luck, freakin expensive hood too. The hood prop hole needs to be moved toward the nose of the car a few inches then the stopper would sit level in the hole, I trimmed the plastic to fit the hole, almost cut my finger off in the process, 5 stitches, including one through the nail, my hood has character haha. Thanks for the info, ShocK.
