Default cf hood

hi, i was wondering if i could take my cf hood to my local paint and body shop to fix the bubbling and chipping of the clear coat on my CF hood or do i have to take it to a special place to get clear coating re-done? would appreciate the help. Thanks

Any body shop that has done custom work before should not have a problem with doing this type of work. As long as they don't take it all the way down to the carbon fabric, you should be just fine.

at the shop we sometime do a carbon hood like yours . We sand it with 1200 grit and clear it , and it is like new ! so any bodyshop can do it

I heard/read somewhere that a different type of clearcoat should be used (marine gel? ). Might research that. I picked up a damaged one cheap and was gonna have it repaired and recleared, but decided to just have it painted instead.

Regular clear coat will work just fine.
