Default Body work pricing?

So I went to a local body shop to get a number for the installation of my Voltex front and rear over fenders. I've had this same shop spray and mount my lip in the past, and that was $100, so I was thinking around $600-$800 with spraying and doing the trimming.

I just got a number of $2175! That seems really really high given the amount of work that needs to be done. Am I crazy for thinking it would be less?

Opinions/input very welcome!

If you are wanting them to cut up your body and reweld it then maybe that is appropriate. But like ALL bodywork, get as many quotes as possible. Your time and diligence will pay off, and don't just go for cheap. A good shop will have examples of work.

I hear you! I will say its a bit hard here, no one really wants anything to do with "custom" work, even though it seems like it should be easy enough for someone with the experience to do it.

My front lip install cost me 375 for everything. Prep, paint and install. I'd ask specifically what the overfender procedure includes. I don't think it's as easy as painting and then drilling into the body. Maybe they thought you wanted them bonded and smoothed out? Like with no holes showing and no seams?

Yeah I specifically went over everything that I wanted/needed done to install them. I actually asked about molding them and they cautioned me against it due to the materials and the agents they would use. They said in about a year you would see a line where the flare met the body, so I was going to do a regular install.
