Default Track Day Reminder:

As a reminder, there is an open track day this Saturday/Sunday at Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR). I am awaiting more details on this event. PPIR might require extinquishers and a driving suit, although they sometimes have loaners.

Next Saturday, the Colorado Exotic Car Association (CECA) has an open track day at Pueblo Motorsports Track. CECA does require a secured fire extinguisher and helmet. No suit. $100 for the day, with a mandatory drivers meeting at 8:30 a.m.

I've run at PPIR. Its run in the road coarse configuration, using the front and back straights, but through the infield at both ends. Definitely different and fun, compared to SCR.

I've never at Pueblo. It is a longer track, with longer straights. Plan on speeds well in excess of 100 mph at the ends of the long straight.

Next open track event will be the Z-car club at Second Creek on June 7.

Of course we can also set up our own mid-week track day at SCR!

Fire extinquisher can be any inexpensive dry chemical extinquisher picked up at any home improvement or hardware store. It will make a hell of a mess if you ever actually have to use it, but probably preferable to your car burning up. Halon or other halon substitute extinquishers are *much* more expensive, but leave no residue.

One of the less expensive driving suits out there is this:

Yesterdays event was great! While I was the only S2000 there, tons of Ferrari's, Vipers, Cobra's and Indy cars where at the event.
