If you go with something other than OEM S02's i would say go with the 245. If you compare the OEM 225/50 with a 245/45 they are almost identical in width.
I know that Milo use to run a wider width on his OEM rims.
Best bet would be to stay with the OEM S02's.

Yeah, I ran a 225/50 on the front and 245 on the rear with all season tires. That's why I went with wider tires. I felt that the added width made up for lesser performance a little. Also, my friend with an S2k went with some BF Goodrich TA KDW G-force tires.*edit: The size he went with was 245/45 16* They chirp and squeal a bit more than the S02's but I think they give a little more progressive break away. They may not stick as well as the S02's but they're easier to drive hard with IMHO.

Thanks Kwando and Milo. My wife and I are expecting our 3rd child very soon, so money is a bit tight right now. It's tough to spend the money on S02's when I can get a good tire from Yoko for a lot less.

I went with the Yokohamas when I wore out the rears and they were horrendous! As I drove between Lincoln and Castle Rock, I had trouble keeping the back end under control. The grooves in the road caused the car to shimmy. After 500 miles, dropping the tire pressure to 30 PSI I went back to my dealer and told them that I needed something else. They agreed to replace the rears with the SO2 and no more problems. The steel belts on the side walls caused the problem. I had to pay the difference but the ride is worth it.

Thanks Vic. I think I'll bite the bullet and just put the OEM's back on. I like the way they look and handle. Maybe when it is time to replace the rears again, the fronts will have to be replaced as well. At that time I may look at a different brand.
