New Exhaust
I was able to get ahold of a Magnaflow Catback exhaust system and I installed it last weekend. As I was removing the 3 bolts from the cat, the bottom one stripped out. I was able to get the exhaust off and bolt the new one on I thought I would be able to get the nut back on. No luck. I went to Kuni Honda and bought a new bolt (stud) that I will install. One question is, when I unbolted the OEM exhaust there was not gasket. Should I install a gasket between the cat and the exhaust or should it seal well enough?
Thanks for the help.
Todd

don't know about the gasket but those bolts are made to strip/cross thread... tobi replaced mine with reg nuts and bolts. Makes it easier to remove in the future. Save you the headache also.

Red,
Is your MagnaFlow a single or double, Ti or SS, and how do you like it after two weeks of use? Seems like a lot of people complain about their singles being too noisy for comfort on long drives.
Was the stock system you took off the car junk, or still useable? I'm looking for a resonator.

There is a gasket but it probably stayed attached to the cat. It is a small round o-ring looking thing made out of steel. They work like a crush washer. Once they are used once they dont come out too well and can be reused several times before they start leaking.

Thanks full throttle. There are no leaks so the gasket must of stayed put.
BKR - it is the dual round SS. I got a great deal on it and I wanted something a bit different than stock so I decided to install it. My '00 has 16000 miles, never been in the snow or off the pavement (except for the one time I spun it at 2nd creek ) so the stock exhaust is in perfect shape. I'm going to keep the exhaust so if the day comes I get tired of this I can turn it back to stock.
As for the sound it is a bit louder but not a ton. I almost think a bit louder would be cool. You can tell a different sound when VTEC kicks in. I have not heard it from the outside yet. I may need my wife to drive it and I'll follow next to her to see how it sounds. All and all I think it sounds pretty good. I went for the dual as I personally do not like the looks of the single. I think the duals "balance" the look of the car.
