My new land speed record
I know this is incriminating, but what the heck. I let a buddy drive the S a while back and he hit 120. I had to do better. Last Sunday coming back fro Conifer after the curves I caught upto a sport bike. He hit it and I had to keep up. There was absolutely no traffic besides the bike so I let the S be free. I was at 148MPH and did not catch the bike until he slowed so I figured he was going over a buck fifty. The car felt pretty good. The road sucked at that speed though compared to the autobahn in Germany.
I was bummed that I could not get to 150 as there was the curve at C-470 and at that speed it's WAY sharper so I had to slow.
Post your own land speed records.
Take Care.

mine was prob a little over 110ish... i don't risk going that fast anymore after loosing my license
but my question is why does everyone ask, "how fast have you gotten it?" it's not all about top speed... is it?

Mine was alittle over 100, nothing big but I didn't really feel the need to go any faster. I don't know why people ask "how fast have you gone in it?", maybe they expect some over the top story of how fast you have gone. Its not all about top speed.

I agree Kwando, I guess it's a "bragging" right if anything....When I was in Germany on the autobahn a couple years back, it was no big deal to go 130, 140, 150 (I drove from Berlin to Kiel hitting 140-150 in a BMW all day). I think it's one of those things in the USA that there is a possibility of getting caught - there is excitement in that. Top speed of cars seems to be drilled into our heads. Read any of the auto magazines and they quote topspeed. Do they need to do that in the USA.....probably not, however it makes me want to "check it out" and see if the car will go that fast. The S is awesome in the curves, but also it's damn fast on the straights.

Mine was 148mph from Vegas to Barstow in the S. nice and smooooooth.
In my younger, bolder days I did 168 (according to GPS) in my smaller, faster, less stable car.

yep, adrenaline rush.
I got to about 125 in the S once. Did 135 in my Acura CL, only because of a deserted I-25 and a Civic in front of me going even faster. It was fun to do one time.
