Default My first Vortech impression

When I first got in the car the sound is just awesome. Driving it is another story, I thought to my self OMG. The power is insane especially when vtec kicks in. There is a noticeable amount of torque, but nothing like a Vette. When you floor it in 1st you just get pushed back in your seat, and it gets better. Shift to 2nd and the tires break loose and before you know it your at 60 in no time. But in the cold the tires break loose a little too much. 3rd gear the tires break loose and it feels like 3rd is the strongest gear with the SC it pulls hard till you hit the rev limiter. When you hit 4th your well in the go to jail speeds so I have not been that high yet.

I am very impressed with the Vortech S/C I think it

Actually, I think on a technical track like Second Creek, an S2000 with springs, racing pads, front sway bar, R-compounds and a supercharger would likely turn better 10-lap averages than a stock or mildly modified R-compound tired Viper.

Not sure about the ACR Viper, but most of the Vipers I've seen at SCR just can't keep the brakes or engine cool enough to do more than half a dozen or so consecutive all-out laps.

The S2000, on the other had, can seemingly go round-and-round all day... or at least until the gas tank runs dry!

Now on a HP track with longer straights (Pueblo comes to mind), game over for the S2K vs. a Viper, even with a blower!

pfb, I think you may be right. I was just thinking that "oracle" sounded more like the drag racing type!

Nope! We've turned him into a road-racing track hound!

Well, in that case...........
Vipers can be a bit of a handfull getting around a tight circuit. The S is far more nimble than my Viper ever was.

I think he likes both!

I don't think he will have enough time this year to be at Bandimere and Second Creek.

Wait till the PPIR NASA races, talk about a high HP track...Vipers and a few big block Shelbys are freaking scary fast on both straights, I am really exited to see what kinda of speed I will attain on those straights with the Vortech.
