Sturgis is definitely not for the timid. The driving is slow and the cops are everywhere, but it's a great time! Once you're past Newcastle, there probably won't be any speeding involved.

Indeed - and from Newcastle north is when it finally gets pretty. We make it up there a couple times a year as Nancy's nephew has a cabin in Spearfish canyon. We also go to "Kool Nights" every year in Deadwood - which is an ABSOLUTE blast!!! Highly recommended!
