Lotus Elise
Ferrari of Denver has picked up the Lotus line. They are taking deposits on the new Elise. Ask for John Yueh. He is a good guy and has been sending customers my way. And no, I don't have a deposit down on one...yet. He said the prices will start at about 38k. 180hp and under one ton is awfully tempting. I really could use a car for work.
BTW-If you want a sneak preview, Lotus will be doing high altitude testing this week. The team is staying at the Denver West Marriot. I may pop over for some pics if I can find the time.

Last time I talked with Ferrari Denver about Lotus was a few years ago... I was interested then in putting a deposit down on an Elise way back then.
They told me they had dropped the Lotus line under pressure from Ferrari... With the Esprit going away, and the price point of the Elise considerably less than any Ferrari/Maserati product, I wonder if Ferrari no longer sees a conflict. Or possibly they where just BSing me on the reason they dropped Lotus in the first place.
The next closest dealer, FYI, is Lotus of Salt Lake City, who is also eager to collect deposits on the Elise.
I'm reserving judgement on the up-market, but also heavier US version until I get to see one, possibly drive one, and observe one at the track.

Yo Rocky Mountain S2Kers,
Forget the Elise guys - I saw the first one of these the other day. 0-60 in 4.7 secs. It's a Vauxhall / Opel VX220 (Vauxhall and Opel are the UK and German divisions of GM respectively). Pretty cool, huh?
This one if for mirror :-)

There is a 150 HP and a supercharged version 200 hp of the vauxhall (opel speedster) out here in Europe.
They cost about 35000 Euro's (turbocharged one)
It's a good compromise between an Elise and an S2000
