Default cleaning off the squashed bugs?

Guys,

What have you found most useful in cleaning off insects off the front of the car?

I drove around all weekend, and bug guts are all over the windshield and front bumper. Getting them off the windshield is not too bad, but the front bumper is quite a trial.

Does anyone have any product and/or technique to clean the front bumper of the bug guts w/o damaging or scuffing it up too bad?

Maybe it is time to invest in a clear bra. Cleaning the bug stuff is choresome the way I'm doing it now, with less than stellar effects.

Thanks . . . Val

any kind of bug and tar remover should work. Just make sure you use 100% cotton towels of microfiber.

I use Turtle wax bug and tar remover, it works great. Just remember to rewax the car when your done. In the future just wax the front of your car a couple of times so the bugs will come off easier.

i know what you mean... i was out driving around on sat and managed to make a few new friends... i found that if you spray some quick detailing spray on the bumper and let it sit for like 30 seconds you can wipe them off fairly easy... bug and tar remover is good but it also strips the wax.

Honda Spray Polish & Cleaner (most Honda motorcycle shops carry it) works great, it's pretty cheap, and it's an all Honda solution :-)

Appreciate the feedback on this. Looking forward to enjoying my car more and spending less time trying to scrape bugs off my front bumper.

All the suggestions were great but a Clear Bra does wonders. Just use a mild cleaner and they come right off. The best is that the CB saves the paint job. And we all know how much fun it is to fix the paint and clear coat with all the rock and sand chips.

The car wash I used to use in SD had a cleaner that you could spray on, wait a minute or two and the bugs would just melt off.

Other than that, just make sure you wax the front (Zaino is king!) and they should come off easy enough. If not, they'll come off with a micro fiber towel.
