Default Battery water

The stock Panasonic battery shows a symbol for distilled water, yet it seems to be a maintenance free sealed battery. Can yo0u add water to this battery or is it mislabeled?

The owners manual section on the battery is pretty generic.

The reason I'm asking about ways to nurse the original battery, is there appears to be a shortage for the Optima batteries so many S2000 users like, even though they are made here in Denver.

Any other drivers considering battery replacements due to the recent cold weather?

I personally am fortunate enough to have a winter beater and not drive the mighty S but to answer your question it would be no. It is a sealed battery and I doubt adding or changing the electrolite would fix anything.

I was afaid so. I wanted to take the car out on one of the few days we have had recently to do so, since it has been sitting a few weeks. That is when I discovered the battery situation.
