Marc, did they exhibit the clunking issue that some of these have after you got them revalved/rebuilt?

EDIT: oh, looks like they weren't rebuilt?

The rear shocks do make the popping sound as with all 8242s for the S2000. This is due to the tight seal on the compression side of the valving when it opens. There is nothing wrong with it, its just noticeable at low speeds. For further info, Lee Grimes has posted numerous places online explaining this.

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to sell these instead of using them in your STR build?

Would I be correct to assume that those springs are "CR" spec?

The Ohlins TTX are supposedly superior. Unfortunately my setup is not taking advantage of the shocks so I cannot comment whether they are better for the STR build or not. The Ohlins seem to be more sensitive and have a larger range of adjustment, but I would expect more sensitivity and adjustment for shocks 3x the price of the TC Klines. Having shocks custom built for the STR car made more sense to me at the time since the TC Klines were still on the car and I couldn't fine someone who could get them custom valved for my application in time for Nationals. Having the car in the shop for one visit was cheaper than two. I was also planning on keeping the TC Klines for a second S2000, but I have been unsuccessful in finding one I want for the right price.

They are CR spings but will not come with the shocks. That was the only picture I had at the moment.

If I do find a good S2000 for a daily driver before someone buys these, I will no longer sell these shocks.

Marc, buy this one! I found two nearly new AP1s in eastern Washington. Kevin Dietz bought one, a 2000 with 25K miles. This one -- an 02 with 5000 miles -- is still up for grabs:

Wow! That's awesome. I look forward to you putting all your parts onto this chassis.
