Whats most important to you? Bass? Sound quality?

So far what I've done is this:

Ultimate brand front speakers - $100
Lucid's harness for rear speakers/mounting brackets - $100
JL 12 W0 Sub in custom box from group buy - $500
Xtant amp - $350
Misc wiring/connectors - $150

$1200 total

I want to upgrade my head unit to aftermarket, move my Ultimate speakers to behind the seats, and then add in component speakers up front, and I think then I'll be happy... but that'll be after another $1200 I'm sure

I would get a powered head unit, new front component speakers, and put the front speakers in the rear. $750 shouldn't be a problem if you do the installation yourself.

just a new deck (no need for amp)... decks put out good power these days.

rear mount means making speakers fit behind the seats... its not too difficult to do

Strictly an example:

Alpine CDM9803 head unit $299.00
Kenwood KFC-1679IE co-axial speakers (you don't want components - I forgot you have a MY00) $99.99
Lucid's DCI to keep your dash controls $150 or so?
Wire, etc. $50?

Total if you install it yourself: about $600
If you want to spend the $750, get better speakers than the Kenwoods.
