Tough lesson learned on valet parking...
I just got back from Vancouver. First off, it was an alright trip but turned bad when some dumb valet guy parked my rental car and put 5 scratch marks on the door. These were deep scratches too, probably rub against a concret pillar. Anyway, I didn't catch it till I got out of the car at my destination after receiving the car from the valet at the hotel. Basically, I am SOL since they have disclaimers out the ying yang. My insurance wouldn't do any good since the deductable is about the same price of the damage so I'll probably be out $500.
Tough lesson learned guys, ruined my whole trip, never setting foot back to Vancouver for a very long time. Never ever get a valet to do the job

Did you use a Platinum or Gold CC to rent the car? (assuming that the CC does have collision/damage coverage to rental vehicles)
Those ers at Lake Louise that did the damage to the passenger door lock of one of the vans i rented, my VISA Platinum is going to cover it in full. Doesn't affect my interest rates or anything on my CC.

Thanks, if it was the S2K, I wouldn't valet it. I was even a bit apprehensive about valeting the rental car even but didn't know where the hotel parking spots were, should have trusted my instinct. Oh well, lesson learned, need a gold card and never let anyone other than myself drive it.

I gave them a tip too Live and learn. I wonder if the rental car place will bend me over. I called a bodyshop and to repaint the door should be no more than 600.
Damn it, my hardtop fund is taking a beating.
