Default Tirerack closeout sale on Bridgestone RE-01R

Tirerack has a closeout sale on the RE-01R's, so if you don't care about having the newest/stickiest tire, this would be a wonderful deal:

Just FYI...and a bit of a rant too I guess...when the dollar was good, Tirerack was a steal, especially with them making a deal with UPS for a flat C$20 brokerage fee. But now you take into account the exchange, and unless it's a screaming deal like the one Murray posted (and which Trung f'd up for the rest of us! kidding dude), it seems to make better sense to just buy Canadian. Not retail Canadian mind you, but Canadian based online tire retailers. www.1010tires.com or www.talontire.com

I've been looking at pricing, and Talon's generally cheaper than 1010, even justifying (maybe slightly) higher shipping costs from Quebec as opposed to Vancouver.

It depends on the tire -- the store's prices are all over the map. For example:

Hoosier A6, 245/45-16
1010tires: doesn't stock
TalonTire: $235 Cdn + shipping
Tirerack: $234 U.S. + shipping

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec, 225/50R16
TalonTire: don't stock the star spec
1010Tire: $226 Cdn + shipping
Tirerack: $127 U.S. + shipping

Hoosiers -- buy from TalonTire (and hope they aren't years old!)
Dunlops -- buy from Tirerack

Talon can bring in the Star Spec, they were talking to me about it today. Didn't get pricing on it though.
