I jut got a new back window last fall b4 I parked it , Daev how did you do your tint again , I managed to buy some at Crappy Tire , ...static cling stuff , but unsure fo the cutting ....

Take a large piece of aluminum foil and lay it across the back window. If you don't have help, then use masking tape to secure it from slipping around. Now take your finger and carefully crease the foil as you trace the outline of the window in the foil. Remove the foil and cut out the template. Use this template on top of the cling and draw the shape out with a felt pen. You may require some minor trimming after the cling is on the window.
KEEP THE CLING CLEAN. Any dust or dirt will CLING to it.
Make sure the window is clean, spray water all over the window and all over the cling on both sides (having help here is good). Lay the cling on the window and with a soft squeegee or microfiber cloth, start at the middle of the window and squeeze all the water out to the edges. Keep the cling still. It will try to shift as you squeegee. Once you are confident all the edges are within the confines of the window border, you are done. Don't fold the top for a day to allow for the remaining moisture to dissipate.

 

Lots of water is the key. Also, doing it in the garage out of the sun is also the key.

Put a drop of soap like sunlight (shameless plug, there better be SUNLIGHT cheque in the mail tomorrow ) in the water spraying mixture.
