My preference is the exact opposite. Lapping didn't do much for me, while autocross is what I love. I am going to try at least one more lapping day this summer to give it a fair chance, but I think autox will always be my sport of choice.
Secret Street is basically a very relaxed autox held inside the oval. No marshals and timing is by someone with a stopwatch (if you are lucky). Or you can always take your car over to the drag strip and do a few runs on the 1/4 mile.
