Update: I recently changed the clutch fluid, which was really crappy. It was really black, with floaty things as xviper calls them. Initial impressions is that the 1st-2nd shift is now back to normal where it was last summer. The clutch engagement point is a bit higher now and I can feel the synchros engaging at the 2nd gate. It is early but seems like this was the cause of the grinds that started beginning of March.

For the guys who drive over winter, go out and check your clutch fluid since Vlad's was black as well and he has had the car the same time as myself.

Update: One problem gone, another still remains. I've always had an issue with 1st gear being sticky to get out of. The issue goes away when the tranny heats up. I am thinking my car has clutch engagement problems so we'll see what the dealer can do, i am still taking it in to chase down the final and only issue I have left with the car.

Our increasing ambient temps may be the problem (if you can call it a problem). Might be time to incorporate some sort of cold air intake.

The grind is BACK!
I drove around the city tonight after hitting a few at the driving range since it was so nice. I took a half lap of Calgary and near home, grrrrrrrrr.....
it was in high rpms too, about 7500rpm. This is the first time in the high rpm range.
The clutch fluid change helped but I think the clutch is still dragging somehow.

To make things worse I was right beside running with a Celica GTS, now they probably think S2ks are crap. Sorry for tarnishing the name guys.

There goes my vacation, my S will probably go under the knife in a week or so if I can re-create again

was it in high rpm or low rpm? Was it in traffic when the tranny was hot?

This could be anything from a true gear box issue starting to develop to old clutch fluid, a clutch pedal in need of adjustment, old tranny fluid or driver error.
Driver error can include poor synchronization of clutch, throttle and shifter or it could be inadequate left pressure on the stick as you pull down to 2nd.
