Default Question for the Autox'rs

Just curious as to what people are running on this year?

I've been using the v700 for the past 2 years and am now looking at getting the v710's. I'm sure a couple of you know who Gord Z. is, and he's running on the Hoosier A3S04's, but will be buying the S05's this year.

So far this year he is untouchable, but we want to see how the v710's compare to the Hoosiers. I guess i'll be the guinea pig unless someone else has any input.

Thanks
Rob

We all know of how quick Gord is! He does have some stiff competition this year though...his name is Reijo.

Are you both coming to the Nationals this year?

Reijo would be the best person to ask...I believe he's going to still be running the S04's. I'm having to avoid buying a new set of R's this year so I've been using the OEM tires and now some older Bridgestone R1's for this weekend's event in Edmonton.

Yeah i know Reijo, he is a very good driver. He actually drove my car last year at a regional event here in Winnipeg.

Not sure if i'll make it to the Nationals, since i've had the boys, it's tough to get away.

That's too bad Matrix, i emailed pdm-racing and they said Kumho's supply this year was not so good. I'll have to order from the states i guess. I like the v700's for wear but i need to try something different, Gord needs some competition.

Hey Rob!

The new Kumhos are fast but do not come in good sizes for the S......265 for rear....front are ok....225-60-15.

Hoosiers are fast when it is hot out......no good in the cold or wet.

My current S04 rears are done....probably one event left in them....have S05's on order for the rear....could NOT get the fronts! I hope they make some soon.

BTW, the front Kumhos V710s are not available either!

Tire supply seems to be a problem this year.

Interesting - I could get the front V710s but not the rears.

No one seems to know what's optimal for the OEM 17 inch wheels, so I'm just going to use my RE-050's on my volks until I gather some experience at this. So excited to do the school on Saturday!

Hey Dylan,

It looks like we will be setting up late on Friday afternoon (have the afternoon off).....a couple of the guys are flying to Calgary around noon or shortly thereafter and will be heading that way once they pick up rental cars.

Will be staying at the Travel Lodge Fri/Sat. nites......

It'll be a fun weekend! Lots of learning..... :^)

Reijo
