Default New Tires?

Hey all,

I have a newb question for you all...

Summer tires... what different brands have you all tried and which do you recommend?

I'd rather try something other than S02's, was looking into fuzion RZ1's or S03's. any thoughts?

Also, where do you guys go to purchase and install them?

Thanks in advance!

Try www.mytires.ca

Anand is a member of the CSCC and has new equipment....and being a motorsports guys can give you intelligent info on tires.

He is located at the Airways Mall on 32nd Ave. NE......just west of Barlow Trail (south side of 32nd Ave. NE).

He can get most brands of tire at a competitive price.....even got my Hoosiers from him.

You don't like the S02's?

The tread life and wet traction ratings on it are a bit low compared to other tires.

I realize that S02's will give me the best performance in dry conditions, but im willing to sacrifice a little performance for increased tread life and better wet traction.

Thanks for the recommendation reijo!

Anyone have personal experiences with other tire brands?

I agree with Woodson,
I luv the SO2's. Have gone through 2 sets of rears and if I wasn't going to 17" wheels, I would get them again. Traction is awesome and you just figure out how to drive in the rain. Plus it is fun letting the rear end loose on wet turns once in a while or in a wet parking lot. So since the S2000 is all about handling, my next set of tires have to handle equally or better. They can also last a long time if...you use them when they are almost toast in the summer and you rotate the tires left to right and right to left. And if your in Alberta, you will have snow tires for the winter anyways.

I have 2 very new front OEM SO2's in storage in Calgary. I will have to sell them I guess. I think they only have around 1,000-2,000 kms on them.

Toyo T1-R (new tire, replaces the T1-S).

Otherwise stick with the S-02, its the best tire for the car... and i found that even with relatively bald rear S-02's I could still go 100 kph on deerfoot (in the rain) and feel safe...

My S0-3's lasted 15,000 km only but they were very good tires. I am currently riding on Michelin's PS2's - very pricey but again, very good tires. They stick just as well as the SO-3's, IMHO. I just hope they last longer than the S0-3's (they should since they have a higher treadwear number). After this set of PS2's, my next rubber will be the T1-R, as koala recommended.

thanks for all the responses guys!

The T1-R sounds interesting, anyone know the pricing and which places carry them?
