Clean oil is good oil. Castrol GTX is $10 per oil change for me. I use OEM Honda filters. I would like to try a HAMP filter if I can find someone who will sell these for a reasonable price in town.

Just a minor update: Never found time to go oil-filter searching. However, I did pick up a bottle of Mobil 1 10W30... I was about 750 mL low. Maybe its just my imagination, but my oil looks a lot cleaner with this stuff added in there.

I'm going to monitor it closely for the next week and see how it goes.

If you checked the dipstick right after you put the oil in, it will look cleaner as it hasn't had time to mix around and you may be just pulling out the clean oil you just put in. Drive it a couple of trips and I think you'll see that it's like it was before.

Does the S2K and ITR take the same filter? I have a filter sitting beside me right now...part number: S21643

If they are the same, anybody interested in HAMP filters? Perhaps if we bought a box load the cost would be not that bad.

I think the ITR and S2K, along with most of the other Hondas use the same filter. I currently use the K&N filter but will probably switch to Puralator PureOne. If you get some HAMP filters, let me know.

Yes they take the same filter.

I also really liked that Purolator PureOne. Someone told me that Purolator was for "Pure Oil Later" and they only got into the courier game to get their filters to market faster!
