Just put on my Fujitsubo exhaust
Since there's lots of these kinds of posts in UTH, I'm putting this here to give Prairie Redliners some more content.
The removal of an exhaust is already documented so I'm not going into that.
Well, this HUGE box arrived:
Bought it from:
It was well packed:
The Neuspeed about to get "Neuspeedectomized" (going to a good home, though):
Look ma, no pipes:
These were the extras that came with the kit:
All laid out, ready to go on:
Triangular gasket goes here:
Ring gasket goes here:

Start by laying the main section under the car:
Hook the front connector to the end of the cat studs:
Install one of the rear muffler hangers (the forward one) first just to hold it all up:
Loosely thread on the 3 cat bolts:
Hang the middle cannister:
Finish hanging the remaining hook on the rear can:
Now go and hook both hangers up on the left muffler:
Loosely install the nuts and bolts for the left muffler pipe:
Now, go back and torque down the 3 cat bolts, making sure they tighten evenly as you go. THEN, go and tighten the 2 connector nuts and bolts for the left muffler.
The finished product:
I have noted on a couple of other Fuji exhausts that the left tail pipe was always sticking out about 1/4" to 1/2" more than the right one. I did not find this to be the case. Mine ended up even.
**OK, I lied. After going for a good blast and getting the thing heated up, I've now noticed that the tips aren't even. They seem to have "settled" into their natural position now. The left tip is indeed about 1/4" further out than the right. (I'll live with it.)
Anyway, that's that. I haven't had a chance to take it out for a spin yet, but then, I already know what these sound like. I spent 6 days riding in an S with this system.

One more thing about this exhaust that seems to be very typical. When it heats up, it makes this ringing noise. If you look at the last picture I posted up and direct your attention to the right exhaust tip, you'll see just inside the tip, there is a second layer of metal. It is this layer that expands and contracts against the outer shell and makes this ringing noise. "Avi" from the Bay Area discovered this and found that squirting a bit of WD-40 aroung that inner lip fixes this ringing immediately. I used Liquid Wrench and the ringing has not been evident for over a week. I'm not sure if this is a permanent fix or if it will come back but the fix is so simple that it's not a concern.
Thanks to Avi for figuring this one out.
