I heard that only accredited banks and other financial instituitions have access to the credit rating system. Impark can't affect your rating since the collections agency they use are shady and under legal pressure themselves.

I'm not sure this is true. eg. If you have a Sears or Bay credit card and you don't pay, your rating can still be toast. The collection agency only needs to file a claim in court. If the judgement is passed down that you are in default, they can then garnishee your wages. At this point your rating can be changed. Maybe a finance guy on the board can confirm this.

This one time when I took out my folks' caravan in fall, I went to this nite club and I park at this Impark lot at around midnite on a SATURDAY nite. 1 hour time limit or something stupid. Of course shit loads of cars like me never botherered buying parking passes. Most of the cars got ticketed including my caravan.

I never thought Impark has a 24/7 operation where their people actually run around at 2 am in the morning ticketing people.

So yeah, caravan registered to my dad's so wondering if I should pay ($72 or something). I don't think collection has called yet though. Already have 3 notices from Impark about the ticket the past few months.

Not sure at what point they will give those tickets over to a collection agency. I would imagine when they think it's worth giving the agency a cut of the "action".

no... impark cannot affect your credit rating. After they send it to a collection agency the only course of action they can take is to file a claim in court. In fact, one of the collection agencies they were using got into trouble after threatening to ruin people's credit which they cannot do.
