Ferrari, Bentley, Maserati...my poor S2000 feels like a Civic!
I think this is very good for Alberta. I don't know much about Ferrari, but, I know lil me won't ever get one. Even if I won the lotto, I am not sure they would sell me one. Don't you have to get some sort of invite or sponsored by someone or I dunno, I might be making this stuff up!

Ferrari's only strict on purchasing on their limited production run cars like the F50 and the Enzo, etc. Anyone can go in and buy a F430 or whatever. Thats how it all begins. I'm still planning on my F355 in a few years.

interesting to note that Norden Porsche sells more cars per capita than any porsche dealer in canada here in Edmonton.
but exotics are not that common here
why?
Calgary is "new" money and likes to show off = ferrari/lambo
Edmonton is conservative money = porsche

We Calgarians just need enough baggage room to fit our briefcases that we take to and from our office jobs where we design the stuff that you guys build.
ZING!!
I kid, I kid.
I've been saying since I moved out here that this city should have a Ferrari/Lambo dealership. I've heard that people were actually shipping them to get serviced in BC which is just insane. Then again, if you have the cash, maybe you don't mind that commitment...

One of my 'rents neighbours used to have a 456 GTA. Nice car. He'd get it serviced in Vancouver, real pain with the transporting and all that.
Re: buying new Ferraris...I was reading an article in Automobile magazine from the fall or winter, and they talked about that. Apparently the dealers are really really snobby. If they don't 'know' you, they won't sell you a new car, whether it's a regular production car or one of the specials. They prefer you to buy something used first, then work your way up. There was a testimonial about a doctor who wanted to buy a Ferrari, and the dealer put up lots of hurdles for him because he'd never owned one a before. Weird.
Anyway...back to that neighbour. He loved the 456, but barely drove it because it had problems so much of the time! He's a nutzo Benz fan, I think he has about 6 or 7, can't remember now how many. I've been in his CL600 - quick quick car. He has an E63 too, but apparently it may stay out on the coast this year, which I'm a bit miffed about, I wanted to get a ride in that too!
